Titan Implants manufactures a full line of components compatible with Biomet 3i implant systems, including T3, Osseotite, Full Osseotite, and Nanotite fixtures in both Certain internal hex and external hex connections. Titanium components are machined from Grade 23 titanium (Ti-6Al-4V ELI) at our facility in Bergenfield, New Jersey and verified against the original prosthetic specifications. Lab analogs are supplied in stainless steel.

Titan manufactures TG hex abutment compatible components including the Titan Design TG hex abutment, analogs, impression copings, plastic sleeves, and drivers for the 4.8mm and 6.5mm platforms. Healing abutments are available for both platforms; ball abutments are available for 4.8mm only.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between 3i Certain and 3i external hex?

Certain uses an internal hex connection with a color-coded platform (purple, blue, yellow, green). The external hex uses an external connection with seating surfaces measured in millimeters (3.4, 4.1, 5.0, 6.0mm). Components are not interchangeable between the two connections.

Which 3i implant lines does Titan support?

Titan manufactures compatible components for T3, Osseotite, Full Osseotite, Nanotite, and classic Biomet 3i fixtures in both Certain internal hex and external hex connections. Match by platform size (color-coded for Certain, millimeter seating surface for external hex).

Are Biomet 3i and ZimVie the same system?

ZimVie Inc. is the current owner of the Biomet 3i dental implant portfolio following the 2022 separation from Zimmer Biomet. The Certain and external hex connection geometries did not change, so components listed as Biomet 3i compatible apply to the equivalent implants sold under the ZimVie name.

How do I identify which platform I need?

For Certain implants, the platform is color-coded on the implant packaging. For external hex implants, the measurement that matters is the seating surface diameter, which is not always the same as the implant body diameter — a 3.25mm body implant uses a 3.4mm seating surface, and platform-switched cases can pair a wider body with a narrower seating surface. Surgical records or the original implant packaging are the most reliable references.
