Implant Locator Pin Guide

Using the Implant Locator Pin

A stainless steel pin with a serrated handle that threads into the implant by hand. Seated, it shows exactly where the implant is and which way it points, then guides the abutment on. It is reusable and engages implant-level connections.

How to use it

  1. Expose and clean the implant connection after healing.
  2. Seat the pin. Confirm it engages fully and sits passively.
  3. Read the angulation. On multi-unit cases, compare pins for parallelism and decide straight vs. angled or modifiable now.
  4. Select the components based on what the pin showed you.
  5. Seat the component along the verified path: slide an abutment with a through hole down over the pin, or remove the pin first.
Keep a few on hand. At $15.00 each, a pin costs a fraction of one wasted impression coping. If you restore more than one implant line, stock the pin for each.
