Titanium temporary abutment for Straumann tissue level implants with the RN 4.8mm internal octagon. Also called a provisional abutment, temporary cylinder or interim abutment. Machined to the referenced system's original prosthetic specifications.

Textured surface for acrylic. The coronal wall is machined with a retentive texture so provisional acrylic or composite bonds mechanically rather than relying on adhesion alone. Build the provisional chairside or on the model, then adjust the emergence contour as the tissue matures.

Available in Locking and Non-Locking. The locking base engages the implant's internal octagon, so the provisional is indexed and anti-rotational — appropriate for single units, and the reason the same abutment can be removed and reseated in a known position through multiple appointments.

Restores at implant level. This seats directly on the implant shoulder. If a solid abutment or screw-retained abutment is already placed, the part needed is a temporary coping for that abutment, not this one.

What the provisional is doing. More than holding space. It shapes the emergence profile and papilla architecture the definitive crown inherits, and it lets you test contour, contact and occlusion before committing to the final restoration. Time spent here is the cheapest way to control the aesthetic result.

Interim use only. Provisional restorations are not intended for definitive service. Plan the final impression and restoration rather than extending the provisional phase indefinitely.

Driver requirement. Uses a 0.050" hex screwdriver, sold separately. A square-head adapter (IS-TWSHA) is available if you are torquing with a Straumann wrench.

Grade 23 titanium (Ti-6Al-4V ELI) screw included.

Titan Implant Locator Pin. A reusable seating and orientation tool made by Titan Implants, sold separately. Seats in place of the screw during positioning, then is removed and replaced with the screw.

  Titan Implants’ Implant Locator Pin is a straight threaded pin with a serrated handle designed for several practical uses:

 At times, it may be difficult to insert an impression coping or abutment intraorally due to impaired visibility or access. The implant locator is easier to screw into the implant. Once inserted, by hand, the impression coping or abutment will slide over the pin and lock in place because of the snug fit of the head. Then the implant locator pin is removed and replaced by the appropriate screw.

 The implant locator pin can be used to check for parallelism and positioning of the implants intraorally. This can be done in the lab too. The implant locator pin can be placed in the analog or fixture. In the lab, the implant locator pin is convenient for custom abutment fabrication. Simply slide the plastic sleeve down the implant locator pin and proceed to wax-up to the appropriate gingival height. The ease of sliding the abutment on and off saves time and simplifies lab work. (This can be actually done in the mouth)
