All-plastic burnout pattern compatible with the Spectra Cone abutment used on the Paragon Screw-Vent system, 4.5mm. Produced to the referenced system's original prosthetic specifications.
This seats on the Spectra Cone abutment, not on the implant. The abutment is already placed; this coping goes over it and the technician waxes and casts the superstructure on top. It will not seat on a bare implant platform. Where the restoration is being built directly on the implant, the part needed is an implant-level castable abutment — see the 3.5mm, 4.5mm or 5.7mm platform plastic sleeves (P-35PS, P-45PS, P-57PSH).
Spectra Cone is not the tapered abutment. The Screw-Vent family carries both, and the copings are not interchangeable. If the component in the case is a tapered abutment collar, the coping to use is P-45TCAPS. The Spectra Cone abutment belongs to the Spectra System, which covers Screw-Vent, Micro-Vent, Bio-Vent and Core-Vent implants manufactured after 1991 — a pre-1991 Core-Vent implant is a different system and takes different components.
Hexed and non-hexed. Hexed indexes to the abutment's anti-rotational feature and is used for single units. Non-hexed is rotational, which allows two or more copings to seat on a common path of insertion — the choice for splinted bridges and bars, since passive seating across several abutments requires rotational freedom at each.
One connection, several brand names. The Screw-Vent connection passed through Core-Vent, Paragon, Sulzer / Centerpulse, Zimmer and ZimVie, and components are listed under each historical name because that is how customers know them. This page is the Paragon listing; equivalents are shelved under Centerpulse (P-SCA4.5PS-SD) and Spectra System (P-SCA4.5PS-SP).
The retaining screw seats into the abutment. It is not an implant-level screw and the two are not interchangeable.
Casting. Supplied as a sacrificial pattern formulated to burn out under a standard investment casting cycle. Follow your investment manufacturer's recommended burnout schedule — complete elimination of the pattern depends on reaching and holding the specified temperature. The finished restoration is the cast metal; this component does not remain in service.
Verify on the analog before wax-up. Seat the coping on the abutment or its analog and confirm full seating before adding wax. On a multi-unit case, verify the fit at every unit.
Grade 23 ELI titanium (Ti-6Al-4V, ASTM F136) retaining screw included.
Note: This product uses a 0.050" Hex Screw Driver.

Innovative Design
This plastic sleeve has horizonal grooves spaced at 1mm intervals around the circumference of the sleeve. These grooves aid in simplifying measurements and transferring measurement information between laboratory personnel and/or the dentist involved in the fabrication of the implant abutment. The remaining grooves enhance cement retention in the final casting.
