Plastic wax-up sleeves serve as the foundation for custom cast abutments, allowing the laboratory to build any coronal geometry in wax before investing and casting. By starting from a precisely fitting implant connection, the technician can control emergence profile, margin location, and path of draw — producing a custom prosthetic component that stock abutments cannot replicate.
