  • Titan Implants offers two types of straight abutments to restore 4.1mm platform external hex implants. One is the Straight Locking Implant Abutment Flat which has a standard prep height of 8mm, comes in collar heights 1 through 4mm, and two emergence profile diameters of 5mm and 6mm. The other is the Simple Step Abutment, an exclusive Titan made product, that offers a hex instead of a flat side, three emergence profile diameters (4.1, 5, and 6mm) prep heights of 4.0, 5.5, and 7.0mm, and collar heights 1, 2, 3, and 4mm. 

 

 

  • Platform diameters: 3.4mm, 4.1mm, 5.0mm, and 6.0mm – perfect match for your Biomet 3i / ZimVie External Hex implants
  • Emergence profile diameters: 5.0mm and 6.0mm for natural soft tissue contouring and superior esthetics:
    • 5.0mm emergence profile: Often suitable for premolars or cases needing moderate soft tissue support. It provides a balanced contour without excessive bulk, ideal where space or tissue thickness is moderate.
      6.0mm emergence profile: Offers broader support, commonly used in molar regions or when more substantial gingival contouring is required for natural aesthetics and stability in wider ridges. It helps create a more tooth-like cervical dimension.
    • Collar heights: 1.0mm, 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm, 3.5mm, 4.0mm (0.5mm increments) – select the perfect gingival height for each patient (TITAN EXCLUSIVE)
    • Straight locking design with flat profile ensures strong anti-rotation stability and precise abutment orientation
    • Horizontal grooves assist in height measurements and adjustments, and also significantly increases cement retention while still allowing retrievability.

    Titan Implants’ Implant Locator Pin (click for instruction video) is a straight threaded pin with a serrated handle designed for several practical uses:

    Example 1: 

  • At times, it may be difficult to insert an impression coping or abutment intraorally due to impaired visibility or access. The implant locator is easier to screw into the implant. Once inserted, by hand, the impression coping or abutment will slide over the pin and lock in place because of the snug fit of the head. Then the implant locator pin is removed and replaced by the appropriate screw.

  • Example 2:

     The implant locator pin can be used to check for parallelism and positioning of the implants intraorally. This can be done in the lab too. In the lab, the implant locator pin is convenient for custom abutment fabrication. Simply slide the plastic sleeve down the implant locator pin and proceed to wax-up to the appropriate gingival height. The ease of sliding the abutment on and off saves time and simplifies lab work. (This can be actually done in the mouth)

    With the help of the implant locator pin, minor angles can be corrected while still using straight abutments.
