Product Description

Titan Implants Inc carries two options of straight abutments available to restore 3i Certain implants: the Titan Straight Locking Implant Abutment Flat which comes with a flat side surface, collar heights 1,2,3, and 4mm, two emergence profile diameters and prep height of 8mm. The other is the Modifiable abutment, (SKU#T-5IMA-01) which is an abutment with a wide emergence profile that can be re-shaped to the desired form for individually fabricated cementable crown and bridge restorations and telescopic crown restorations. Implant axis divergences of maximum 20° are compensated by inserted bridge restorations and suitably adapted forming. The modifiable abutment is available in a 6.5mm emergence profile for platform diameters 3.4mm (3.25mm diameter), 4.1mm, 5.0mm, and 6.0mm.

Titan’s Straight Locking Implant Abutments are machined with careful precision, which ensures a consistent and accurate fit into the implant.

This fit helps eliminate micro-movement. Titan’s abutments carry a wide range of emergence profiles which contribute to a natural restoration.

  • Designed for 3i Certain 5.0mm platform internal hex implants
  • Straight locking design provides strong anti-rotation stability
  • Precision fit with minimal micro-gap on wider platform
  • Multiple collar heights and emergence profiles for posterior support
  • Includes titanium screw for reliable seating and torque
  • Compatible with Titan Implant Locator Pin for easier intraoral placement and parallelism verification
  • Proudly made in Bergenfield, New Jersey, USA
  • Ideal for premolar and molar screw-retained crowns

Tips for Selecting the Emergence Profile and Collar Height

  • Start with the healing abutment already in place — its profile and height often guide final abutment choice.
  • Use the Titan Implant Locator Pin to verify parallelism and available height before final selection.
  • Provide the lab with: implant platform size, soft tissue thickness, desired margin position, and photos/radiographs.
  • When in doubt, select a slightly taller collar or wider profile — it’s easier to adjust than to add material later.

Match Emergence Profile Diameter to the Tooth Being Replaced

  • Anterior teeth (incisors, canines): Choose a narrower emergence profile (e.g., 3.8–4.5 mm) for a natural, scalloped contour and better papilla support.
  • Premolars: Medium profile (e.g., 4.5–5.5 mm).
  • Molars: Wider profile (e.g., 5.5–7.0 mm or more) for proper occlusal table and proximal contacts. The emergence profile should create a smooth, concave-to-straight transition from the implant platform to the crown at the gingival level — avoiding overly convex or abrupt angles that trap plaque or cause tissue recession.

Titan Implants’ Implant Locator Pin is a straight threaded pin with a serrated handle designed for several practical uses:

  • At times, it may be difficult to insert an impression coping or abutment intraorally due to impaired visibility or access. The implant locator is easier to screw into the implant. Once inserted, by hand, the impression coping or abutment will slide over the pin and lock in place because of the snug fit of the head. Then the implant locator pin is removed and replaced by the appropriate screw.
  • The implant locator pin can be used to check for parallelism and positioning of the implants intraorally. This can be done in the lab too. In the lab, the implant locator pin is convenient for custom abutment fabrication. Simply slide the plastic sleeve down the implant locator pin and proceed to wax-up to the appropriate gingival height. The ease of sliding the abutment on and off saves time and simplifies lab work. (This can be actually done in the mouth)

The implant locator pin comes in three different lengths and different threads to match various manufacturers: https://titanimplants.com/titan-implants-locator-pins/

With the help of the implant locator pin, minor angles can be corrected while still using straight abutments.
