Dentistry owes a debt of gratitude to the original pioneers of modern implants: Dr. Branemark, Dr. Linkow, Dr. Niznick, as well as the more recent work of Dr. Lazzara.

All of their competing designs have worked well in dentistry for many years. The different implant topographies, metal, surfaces, and compositions that have been advocated have likewise all been successful.
