Laboratory analog (implant/abutment) replicates the exact position and internal anatomy of the dental implant or abutment connected to the implant. After an impression is taken with the impression coping, the lab will seat the correct diameter analog onto the impression coping so that a model may be poured up that exactly replicates the implant cavity or abutment top as it is in the mouth site.
